MONDAY was Pday. We had planned to go to the Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts, but it’s closed on Mondays. We emailed, went to Taco Bell, got in trouble for playing with the sauce packets, went to the Family Christian Bookstore, Home Goods, and looked at refrigerators at ABC Warehouse.
Rakim dropped us 😦 He said he only met with us to thank us “for the day on the bus.” We went grocery shopping and I ran into two girls I went to high school with! We had dinner with the Elders at the Pierce’s. It was my last time with Elder Clark (we’ve been together for 6 months… since we came out!) and we roasted him hard 😉 As we were all leaving, he said, “I don’t think you could ever be tamed Sister Harrison. Not even President could do that. That’s why they’re moving the District Leader to Grand Valley,” he chuckled and winked. I’m gonna miss that kid.
TUESDAY we ended up going to a different area than planned, but it worked out because we went less active finding and door knocked into a member who had just gotten home from work. It was mass chaos and we helped her clean. It was definitely inspired timing. She cried and hugged us so hard when we left. 🙂 We had dinner at a Recent Convert’s home who recently moved into the ward.
WEDNESDAY we had to drive to the church to get our car inspected by the Zone Leaders while we did studies. There I met our new Elder… Elder Oldroyd! He is sooo awesome! He has been out for 20 months and just moved from a Zone Leader at Central Michigan University to our District Leader. He’s so fun to work with. 🙂 We went doorknocking a lot that day and met some cool high school potentials.
THURSDAY we visited some of our older members and less actives. Don’t ever move into a senior living center. It is DRAMA. “I’m going to call the cops on you for playing your puzzle at my Mexican Train table!! *wheeze wheeze* *oxygen tank*.”
FRIDAY we were super low on miles so we went to the library after training and printed out some maps for our area that Sister Daker wants to mark up. We also made some cute printable quotes for the youth in the ward. We visited our less active friend Sister Ramirez and SHE CAME TO CHURCH THIS SUNDAY!! She also enjoyed Relief Society which was huge!! 🙂 (We talked about miracles and she shared.) We ended the day with dinner at Sister Vandongen’s home and her BFF (and my BFF) Sister Rosema joined us 🙂
SATURDAY a member drove us around potential and less active finding. Not much luck. We also volunteered at the library. PIZZA HUT delivery for dinner! 😀
SUNDAY was great! I bore my testimony about testimonies! We had dinner with the Elders at the Buckwalter family home and that was a blast! 🙂
I love you all!
