Hi Family and Friends,
MONDAY I got a package from my mom which was the best thing ever! 🙂 Sister Daker and I went to the John Ball Park Zoo for Pday. A member had us over for the first time and she made homemade tortillas! We did FHE at the Deshane’s, and their friend showed up and said it was the best ‘Bible Study’ he’s ever been to! We gave him a mormon.org card with our number 🙂
TUESDAY we heart attacked some member’s doors. We were low on miles so we did some projects around the house. Dinner was really good- We had this yummy taco soup with pasta shells! We decorated Easter cupcakes that evening. 🙂
WEDNESDAY Sister Daker and I went and picked up breakfast at McDonald’s, and ended up teaching this couple in line the Restoration! We had our last District Meeting 😦 It was super good though and we went to Chile’s for lunch. 🙂 I was impressed! We attempted to go Visiting Teaching with a member, but no one was home. It was nice getting to know Sister Wheeler better though. 🙂 I said goodbye to some members, because transfer calls were the next day, and I was sure I’d be leaving. We ended the evening with a bittersweet correlation meeting.
THURSDAY we had a lesson with Anna and that went well. We brought retired professor and local art celebrity Sister Menning with us and we talked a lot about faith. We found out some of her concerns and Sister Menning showed us her mural and her old office afterward 🙂 I’m going to miss her.
FRIDAY was transfer calls and we found out that I’m going to ‘pinkwash’ Greenville with Sister Lau. Pinkwashing means that we’re kicking out the boy missionaries and taking over! 😉 Sister Daker will be doing the same thing with SIster Weeks in Holland. (We will both remain in the the Grand Rapids Stake). They will be replacing us with two new Elders, so the Grand Valley ward will now have 4 boy missionaries! We spent the day getting the apartment prepared for them and saying our goodbyes to members. It surprised a lot of people, and I think they’re really sad. Sister Daker is disappointed as well, but she will do great things in Holland 🙂
SATURDAY was General Conference, and we watched the first session at the church with the other Elders (3 sets). Sister Rosema picked us up for the second session and treated us to Applebee’s. My favorite talk overall (I had a lot of them), was Elder Pearson.
SUNDAY was more General Conference at the church. A lot of Easter candy was eaten. Finished our last goodbyes and got the lowdown on the Greenville Ward from my Relief Society President who used to live there. I’m excited 🙂
That was my week in a nutshell. I’m excited for the new adventures that lie ahead. As Elder Pearson said, if you have questions, the #spaciousbuilding is not where to go for truth. THE SCRIPTURES AND PRAYER ARE THE WAY! (And words from modern day prophets).
Love you all!
