MONDAY we drove to Central Michigan University for transfers. I’m now companions with Sister Peterson who has 3 months left of her mission. She’s funny and can quote a lot of movies. We have a purple car they’ve nicknamed “Lipstick.” Our District Leader and his companion are really awesome and in our ward. Elder Strong (DL) is from Canada and Elder Walling is from Florida. They drive a van so we tease them about being soccer moms.
TUESDAY we went to the library because Sister Peterson didn’t have time to email the previous day. I went to obtain a library card so I could log into the computers, and they had me in the system from when I was 7… and had a $20 fine! They didn’t make me pay it though so that was nice 😀
WEDNESDAY I texted 100 people in our phone to see if they wanted to meet with us. #PinkwashProbs We also drove around our area and visited some members. Met some people I knew when I lived in Lansing and saw a lot of my childhood! We also went to a relief Society activity- Game night!
THURSDAY we contacted referrals from Mormon.org and stopped by some of our investigators. We have an investigator whose children’s father lives with her and he’s white and has gold grills. He was super nice and a potential investigator. 😀
FRIDAY we drove around a lot to visit people. No one is ever home And they don’t return calls so that’s a bit hard. But we had breakfast for dinner at the Bishop’s with the Elders so that was super yummy 🙂
SATURDAY we did a lot of work on the Area Book and the apartment, along with making a gold mine map. It’s golden. We talked to 167 people this week about the church/invited them to meet with us. We got 5 potentials! Because we’re taking over an elder’s old area, we get a lot of girlfriend mail; -_- But we live down the road from the mission office so they take it off our hands pretty fast before we throw up. Lol 😉 Sister P and I made a video for our old companions who are now companions with each other in Bay City. (Sister Lau and Sister Brockbank) so that was fun.
SUNDAY was our first day in the Meridian ward! 🙂 It’s the same building I attended when I was 6-10 years old. 🙂 A lot of familiar faces and kinda a small ward, so they asked Sister Peterson and I to bear our testimonies. Super delicious dinner appointment with the elders and the members fed us taco enchiladas and homemade Oreo ice cream! 🙂
*Here’s the quote of the week and stay awesome!*
“The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.”
Love, Sister Harrison
