Zion’s Camp

Hi Family and Friends,

MONDAY I got a shmancy hair appointment. We also went shopping at H&M! It’s been too long! We also had an eventful dinner appointment with the Elders at this recent convert’s house. She’s this super cute lady named Charice and her son is very energetic and she told him he’d probably need to be baptized twice. We all got a kick out of that.

TUESDAY we taught our Sister Training Leader’s (MSU Sisters, kind of like Zone Leaders) a homeless investigator the Restoration. He wasn’t all the way there and ended up walking out ‘cuz I testified to him that our church was the only true church and he was stuck on Joseph Smith going to central America….. We had ‘dinner’ with the Elder’s in this member’s backyard. It was picnic style and had SMORES!!!! 😀 We all then went to go help another member in the ward move.

WEDNESDAY Sister Peterson and I did a super funny companionship inventory demonstration in District Meeting. The theme was about companionship unity. We also heart attacked a few members in our ward, including our Bishop and Ward Mission Leader. Our dinner appointment that night was crazy, because we pulled up and no one was home, and as we were leaving, they pulled up and were coming home from the hospital, and insisted we stay, but we said no and then crashed for dinner at the Bishop’s house. Elder Strong went on splits with Bishop and Elder Walling was with the High Priest group leader, and we were just hanging out with Bishop’s wife. When Elder Walling got dropped off back at the house, there were no men there, so we all sat out on the lawn and Sister Steed called some kid from the University ward to come sit with him until his companion came back. It was super intense and we were all laughing pretty hard about it.

THURSDAY we had a lesson with an investigator who used to be married to a NHL player. She has the coolest house and is an awesome photographer! I don’t think we will teach her, but she was really nice and loves coming to church every Sunday! She just doesn’t want to be associated with a label… we also visited a less active in a care home and I think she really appreciated that 🙂 Finally met our relief Society president. She’s been in Greece with her British husband because he was doing a lecture there or something like that.

FRIDAY was the best trade off I’ve ever had! I was with Sister Steele who came out a transfer after me. We were supposed to go to Elder Perry’s funeral broadcast, but got lost for an hour driving. We also did a lot of service for some Sisters in our ward (yard sale, organizing the den.) It’s good though, because that’s how you gain trust from the members and they want to introduce you to their friends.

SATURDAY we met with Bishop and discussed our action plan to help the ward.

SUNDAY we went to Ward Council. I haven’t been to one of those in forever. I presented the 40 Day fast idea and it was taken well. Hopefully it will help like it did in Greenville. 🙂 Fast and Testimony meeting was interesting. Only 40 people were at church.  A lot of people have strong feelings about the ward splitting (even though it was a year or so ago) and how people keep moving. A few people said that when Sister Missionaries move into the ward, great things happen, and that’s Sister Peterson and I’s game plan. We’ve already seen amazing success through hard work and obedience like our President has advised. I personally wish we were meeting with more less actives, but we will get there eventually. I bore my testimony about unity and Zion and even threw in the “WE ARE FAMILY!” And how it all starts with ourselves and our homes. (Moses 7:18) We taught Gospel Principles and about the Holy Ghost in Sharing Time (Primary).

Here’s a quote to end, and I hope you all have a great week!

❤ Sister Harrison

“As children of God we are somebody. He will build us, mold us, and magnify us if we will but hold our heads up, our arms out, and walk with him. What a great blessing to be created in his image and know of our true potential in and through him! What a great blessing to know that in his strength we can do all things!” -Elder Marvin J. Ashton
